Ex-Tempe Resident Missing In Action

Tempe, December 9 - Relatives here have received word that Lieutenant Harold E Jones of Temple City, California, has been reported missing in action. He is a son of Mr and Mrs T.R. Jones, former residents of Tempe, now living in South Pasadena, California.

Lieutenant Jones, combat information officer in the naval air force, was on the carrier Liscome Bay which was bomed and sunk in the Gilbert Islands invasion. He was editor and publisher of the Temple City Times before entering the service. His wife is in Washington, DC. Miss Elizabeth Cosner of Tempe and Mrs W.S. Austin of Scottsdale are sunts of the lieutenant.
