Vivian Dennistoun Boulos
July 12, 1932 - June 26, 2018
Vivian, of Los Angeles, passed away at 85 years of age. She was the daughter of Robert Dennistoun and Elise Morphy. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she was the quintessential California girl, although she was always fascinated with family genealogy that traced back to her roots in Scotland and Canada.
Vivian was a trailblazing young woman who attended Occidental College and graduated with a bachelors degree in Education. A true beauty, she modeled for the department store, Bullocks Wilshire, while in college. In 1973 she left sunny California when she married William Boulos, a banker from Seattle, whom she met while working at the San Francisco Convention Bureau. They raised her three children in the Seattle neighborhood of Windermere. Throughout life she was an independent spirit who valued career, holding long-term positions at Saks Fifth Avenue and King Broadcasting. Later, she obtained a second degree in English Literature from the University of Washington. In 1998 she and Bill relocated to Newport Beach where they enjoyed retirement and adopting stray cats. She was a gifted writer and her letters, emails, and texts were treasures that kept everyone who knew her entertained.
She is survived by her daughter, Elyse Knapp Nicholson (Allen), her son, Charles Knapp (Lian Console), as well as her four grandchildren. A piece of Vivian lives in her children and grandchildren: her intelligence, impeccable comedic timing, love for cats, passion for reading and writing, and her overall lack of enthusiasm for early mornings.
We will miss Vivian's quick wit, humor, grace, and intelligence.
