Brooks Hughes, age 76, passed away October 25, 2010, in Saline, Michigan, from a lingering illness. He grew up in Southern California, but had been a resident of Ann Arbor.
Following Dartmouth College, he served in the U.S. Army, and completed more schooling at the University of Michigan. Brooks was a championship bridge player, bridge tournament director, and bridge columnist. He was survived by his wife of 28 years, the former Caroline Kerr of Royal Oak, as well as by two brothers and one sister.

Good man, straight shooter even then , baseball practise, summer 52, pitcher Brooks in the interest of helping me curry favor with coach what's hisname, fed me a fast ball right down the middle to die for. it went about 380 ft. and is considered to be my sole positive contribution to baseball. Perhaps he took exception to my left leaning attempt to switch hit? rest in peace good Bud, my 2 topgun trophys(6 50cal.) ! I dedicate to your Faith!!!
