John E 'Jack' Jeuck

John Evans Jeuck, 86, of Radford, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010.  He was preceded in death by his much loved wife of 49 years, Catherine Jones Jeuck.  Survivors inculde a son and daughter-in-law, Earl D. and Annette Goad Jeuck, of Radford; a daughter, Jacki Johns, of Salem, Oregon; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Frances Davis, of San Diego, California; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Jack graduated from South Pasadena High in California.  He served three and a half years, 1943 to 1946 on the U.S.S. Vance DE 387 in the United States Coast Guard in the Mediterranean and Atlantic during World War II and served one year and two months, 1950 to 1951 on the U.S.S. Bradford DD 545 United States Navy off the coast of Korea during the Korean Conflict.

He worked for Southern California Edison Company for 34 years before retiring in 1980 as Energy Services Supervisor, Eastern Division.  He was a member of VFW Post #776 where he served as Post Commander from 1986 to 1987, member of the American Legion Post #60, member of F. & A.M., and was Radford AARP's president for 20 years.  He was an active member at Morgans Chapel United Methodist Church in New River where the members were friends as well as brothers and sisters in Christ.  He will be buried with his wife in the Union Highland Cemetery in Florence, Colorado with military services.
