John DeGottrau La Montagne

John deGottrau LaMontagne, 95, of Dana Point, California, passed away June 12, 2014. He was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on November 11, 1918 and moved to South Pasadena in the late 1920s. He has resided in the Newport Beach-Dana Point area for the last 54 years.

After graduating from USC in 1941, he enlisted in the US Navy, attaining the rank of Lt Commander, serving as Captain of the LST during World War II and the Korean War. He later worked as a business owner and manager and culminated his career as a real estate broker.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joan Penberthy LaMontagne. He loved his family and was blessed with his children John, Stephen, Anne, and David; seven grandchildren, Tony, Michael, Daniel, Mimi, Lauren, Grace, and Luc; and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Gavin, and Ashley LaMontagne. He was a loving father, husband, brother, son, and friend, and will be greatly missed.
