John F McClure

John Frederick McClure, 91, born September 9, 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri, passed on peacefully March 10, 2012 in Huntington Beach, California.  He spent the last five years in bed, and was eternally grateful for Teresita, his home healthcare nurse.

John attended schools in Minneapolis, Kansas City, and Dallas, Texas before moving to California where he attended Piedmont and South Pasadena High Schools.  During the war John joined the PV-2 Ventura aircraft production until the end of the war.  John was involved in sales positions and was always interested in helping people he met who needed assistance.  John did not marry, and lived a frugal life, seldom traveling very far from his homes in Belmont Shores and Huntington Beach.

John is survived by his brother, James McClure (SPHS '46); sister-in-law Carol McClure; nieces, Janis Griffin and Karen McClure; nephews John A. McClure II and Patrick McClure; grand-niece and nephew, Jeni and James Griffin.
