Janet Anne Cross, 81, died of Alzheimer's disease March 26, 2000 at Twin Oaks in Chico, California.

Mrs. Cross, who was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, lived in Perris 15 years before moving to Corning 15 years ago.  She previously lived in Mira Loma 10 years.  She owned, with her husband Jack, a feed store in Mira Loma during the 1970s.  She was also a private breeder and trainer of thoroughbred race horses from 1955 until 1980.  She competed nationally in the Hunter and Jumper classes from 1935 until 1950.

Janet was a parishioner of Corning Catholic Church.  She is survived by her husband, Jack; a sister, Dorcas Dimmick of Covina, and a brother, Frank O'Neil of Dana Point.
