Margaret Lenore Polk (Halminski) - Class Of 1941

Margaret Lenore Polk (Halminski)

Margaret Lenore Halminski, daughter of Lewis and Margaret Gemmill Polk, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2016, surrounded by her loving children. A resident of Leesburg, Virginia, she was active in her community as chair of the Lansdowne Woods Activities Committee, Budget and Finance Committee, and Lansdowne Woods Women of Note.

Born December 30, 1923 and raised in California, she was married to Sylvester Halminski, a career naval officer who preceded her in death. During their travels, she volunteered as a Gray Lady, caring for patients in overseas military hospitals.

She is survived by seven children:  Sandra Halminski, Katherine Super, Stephen Halminski, Michael Halminski, Robert Halminski, Margaret Halminski, and Christine Darges; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her passing marks the end of a long and fulfilling life and many of us will miss her dearly.
