Donald Leslie Risk

Donald L. Risk, class of 1941, passed away at his residence in Prescott, Arizona on January 12, 2009 from heart failure. 

Don's entire schooling was in the South Pasadena/San Marino School district.  He enlisted in the U.S. Naval reserve the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor and served nearly four years in the Navy's Lighter-Than-Air Corps at bases in Santa Ana, Sunnyvale, and Tillamook, Oregon.  He married Winifred Brown in South Pasadena on June 28, 1948.

Don was employed by General Dynamics as an electrical engineer for over 40 years where he worked on space craft projects.  Upon his retirement, he and his wife moved to Prescott where Don became an avid golfer and gardener.  His wife "Winni" passed away in 1993.

Don is survived by two daughters, three sons, 11 grandchildren, and his older brother, Lealand Risk, class of 1938.  Both Don and Lee are second generation South Pasadena High School graduates.  Their mother, Elizabeth Freedle Risk graduated from SPHS with the class of 1918.
