Jack B Schlemer

Jack Schlemer, born December 1, 1920, passed away at age 95 on May 25, 2016 in McMinnville, Oregon. Death was due to complications from a stroke.

Jack attended SPHS during the time that South Pasadena and San Marino shared a campus. He loved South Pasadena and had many accomplishments in his life including his four children, all SPHS graduates:  Ann Agajanian '68, Jackie Hoover '69, Jay Schlemer '76, and Christine Bennett '83.

Jack went on to fly in World War II as a lst Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps and then commercially for United Airlines. When he could not fly any longer he moved on to radio controlled aircraft. He loved airplanes and cars, driving to a ripe old age of 91.

United's DC-3 Infamous 'Vomit Comet' entered into passenger service, flown by Jack. Restored and displayed at Evergreen Aviation Museum, McMinnville, Oregon.
