George Underhill

February 20, 1934 - March 12, 2021

George Sidney Underhill, Class of 1951, passed away at age 87 in Dana Point, California.

After graduating from South Pasadena-San Marino High School, George attended Cal Poly Pomona and graduated in 1955 from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. In 1955 George married Patricia Bliss (SPHS '52). They had dated since her senior year in high school shortly after her family moved from New Jersey to San Marino. After graduating from college, George worked for Pacific Bell becoming a District Manager. During that time Patty and George lived in Temple City, Sunnyvale, and Claremont. After 32 years, George and Patty retired to Sun Lakes in Banning, California. They lived there until 2016 when they moved to Dana Point to be closer to family.

George and Patty have three daughters, Deborah (Gary) Rice, Judith (Bill) Manis, and Diana (Edward) Valdez. They have five grandsons and two granddaughters. George is also survived by his sister June Underhill Formanns (SPHS '55) of Surprise, Arizona, and one nephew.

George was a wonderful loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather and is terribly missed by all.
