Elaine Weaver (Bateman) - Class Of 1950

Elaine Weaver (Bateman)

For eighty wonderful years, God blessed our lives with Elaine Bateman. She was a constant source of joy, inspiration, and nurturing to everyone who knew her. You almost never saw her without that welcoming smile and infectious laugh, one that could brighten even the cloudiest day. Elaine had a zest for life and was passionate about so many things, from painting to gardening to debating the political issues of the day to just chit-chatting with friends. Elaine also loved a good road trip, especially up the coast to Monterey.

But most of all, Elaine was happiest when she was side-by-side with her beloved husband of 58 years, Dow Bateman (SPHS '46), and surrounded by their loving family. This past Christmas Elaine and Dow were joined by their three children, Brad, Brian, and Jane, their eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. On January 14, 2013, God brought Elaine home to join his family. We will miss her dearly, and think about her every day, but we will always smile when we do so.
