Herbert F Williams

Herbert "Bud" Williams, M.D. passed away peacefully in Fullerton, California on April 6, 2009.  He was born in Los Angeles, the son of Marie Blanche Ford  and Frank Andrew Williams.  Bud received both his undergradute and medical degrees from Stanford University.

He joined the US Navy Marine Medical Corps after completing his internship at LA County General Hospital and served in the South Pacific theater, including the Battle of Iwo Jima.  Bud returned to Pasadena where he practiced General Surgery and Dematologic/Oncology Surgery at Huntington Hospital and volunteered many hours at St. Lukes Hospital, the Pasadena Dispensary, and Las Encinas Nursing Home.  He was also a Radiologist/Surgeon at the Pasadena Tumor Institute for many years.  Bud was a long time member of the University Club in Pasadena where he was an accomplished Bridge player. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Marion Libbey Williams.  Bud is survived by his sons; Malcolm and his wife Claire, Warren and his wife Connie, Ford and his wife Susan; and daughter Mary Lou Hayden.  He also has eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
