Rich and I went thru JR and SR High together. During Junior High, Rich had an after school  paper corner at the intersection of Monterey Road and Pasadena Avenue. Sometimes, he would ask me to take it for the day. I enjoyed the interaction with the motorists who drove up to buy a paper. One day, I didn't see the papers on the corner when I arrived and waited and waited for the supervisor to bring them. Meanwhile, I lost a lot of business. After about an hour, a motorist pointed to 2 stacks of papers 30 feet away on the center meridian. Those were the papers I needed - they had been there all along. I don't recall Rich asking me to take his corner again after that wonderful event.  Steve Ledder '60
