Beulah Charlene Sidle (Hoover)

Charlene Sidle Hoover, age 81, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2009, at her home in Bend, Oregon after a prolonged illness. Charlene was born on February 13, 1927, in Los Angeles, California and was the only child of Charles and Ruth Sidle. Her early childhood days were in Ventura, California and subsequently, South Pasadena, California. She attended Pasadena Junior College and was employed by Security First National Bank in South Pasadena during her school vacation periods.

 After completing her schooling she was employed by Pasadena Blueprint Company. On April 13, 1947, Charlene became the bride of Charles D. Hoover at the Chapel of the Roses in Pasadena, California. As newlyweds, they lived in Arizona briefly, and then moved to San Francisco, California as her husband continued his employment with the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company. After his husband's retirement in 1987, Charles opened a consulting service, and Charlene was an assistant until they closed the business in 1998.

They moved to Bend in 2004. Charlene was blessed with great artistic talent and especially enjoyed decoupage and creating porcelainized dimensional pictures. She and her husband were active church members and Charlene was a Sunday school teacher for many years.

 Charlene was wonderful wife, devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Charles; sons, Charles, Jr., of North Hills, California and Peter of Bend; granddaughter, Raine: and grandsons, Brian and David.
