Jill MacDiarmid Bartholomew

March 15, 1951 - January 28, 2016

Jill was born and raised in South Pasadena. In her youth she loved swimming, her Blue Bird troop and trips to the beach in the family station wagon. As a child of the 50s she walked to school at Las Flores Elementary, enjoyed movie matinees at the Rialto Theatre on Saturdays and attended Sunday school at Oneonta Congregational Church.

Upon graduation from South Pasadena High School, she attended Pasadena City College and later Cal Western University. She married Bruce Bartholomew, a UC Santa Cruz graduate with advanced degrees in Physics. His Aerospace career took them to Poway where they bought their first home. They had two children, Keith and Kelly. Jill had an adventurous spirit. While in San Diego she took scuba lessons, rode her motorcycle, and went skydiving. Her husband's career took them from San Diego to New Mexico and finally to Tucson, Arizona. 

Jill was a fighter and battled Parkinson's for over 30 years. She passed away in Tucson. She is survived by her two children and four grandchildren.
