Mary Darms, an author and beloved by many, at home with the Lord at age 71.  Mary Andresen Darms passed on February 5, 2009, near her home in Los Gatos, California.  A heart seizure took her to nearby Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose where, at 3:20 pm, she was removed from resusciation equipment.

Mary is survived by her husband of 47 years, Donald Arthur Darms, an engineer retired from Hewlett-Packard in 2000.  Her eldest daughter is Deborah Dorothy d'Arms of Mt. Shasta, California, a free-lance artist.  Her son Daniel Andrew d'Arms, a computer Business Process Manager, lives in San Jose with his wife Leticia and children Andrew and Anna.  Younger daughter Alyson Marie d'Arms is a fourth grade educator in Campbell, and also lives in San Jose.  Her parents were Ruby and Clarence Andresen of Sierra Madre.

Known by scores of admirers as a three-time cancer survivor, Mary Darms is the author of "The Loose Stone", a story of that journey of determination and recovery, currently being published.  A strong Orthodox Christian, she was constantly reaching out as an emphatic enouragement to stranger and friend.  She was a most devoted wife, mother, grandmother, talented gardener, landscape designer, and crusader for natural healing.  She will be missed tremendously.
