Malcolm 'Bob' Bly

Robert Malcolm 'Bob' Bly, born October 26, 1935 in Santa Barbara; the son of Victor Bly and Gretchen Stapel, died December 9, 2012 at Sonora Regional Medical Center.  He was 77.

Bob was a retired analytical chemist.  He was a member of Sonora United Methodist Church, where he was president of the United Methodist Men and sang in the church choir.  He was active in sons in Retirement, the SIRs RV Club and the Tuolumne County Genealogy Society.  He also collected wood for Interfaith Community Social Services at one time.

He and his wife of 53 years, Barbara, enjoyed traveling in their motorhome as part of his genealogy research and also did a lot of sightseeing.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children; Sheri Bly of Garden Grove, and David Bly of Salem, Oregon; five grandchildren; and one sister, Andie White and her husband, Bernard, of Encino, California.
