Dennis W Harvison

Dennis W. Harvison, 72, of Marietta, Georgia, beloved son of Irene and Louis, brother of Tony, died peacefully on July 17, 2010 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.  Cause of death was a staph infection.  He was blessed to have lived a full, active life up until a couple of weeks before his death.

Dennis began his career in the United States Marine Corps, where he undertook Aviation Flight Training.  He flew and instructed as a fighter pilot during his active duty.  Dennis served and retired as a reservist, Lieutenant Colonel, USMCR in 1978.  After his active military service, Dennis was employed with Delta Airlines, where he also retired as a captain in 1997.

Dennis enjoyed spending time at his beach house and playing golf.  His children remember him as a strong and fit father who enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends.  Dennis was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta.  They enjoyed the family reunions he held at the beach, so that all of his children and grandchildren could visit and vacation.

Dennis will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his son, Kyle Harvison.  Dennis is survived by his wife of 32 years, Deborah Harvison of Marietta; his children, Wendy Danskin, Linda Hayes, Michael Harvison, and Clay Harvison; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Thomas, and William Harvison, Ethan and Abbey Danskin, Madison and Helena Hayes; nieces and nephews, Hilary, Jillian, Jackson, and Meredith Clay; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark and Colleen Clay; and mother-in-law, Marion Clay.
