Emilie Manns Smyth

Since my Junior (last) year at SPHS I have lived in: Long Beach, Eagle Rock, West Los Angeles, Altadena, El Monte (where I learned to fly), Downey, Fullerton, and Huntinton Harbour (where we stepped off our dock and raced in the TransPac sailboat race to Honolulu and earned trophies twice) - all the previous places were in California. Then we moved to Malaga, Spain, for 17 years. We returned to the US in 2001 and settled in Lompoc, CA.

My second cousin, who lives in Wyoming, found me because he remembered that I had gone to South Pas High, We often communicate by email now.

Things you probably don't know about me: I did not graduate from So Pas. My family moved to Long Beach after my Junior year and I graduated from Long Beach Wilson High School (which still had many rooms closed off after they were damaged in the 1935 earthquake in Long Beach). I graduated from Occidental College in 1952. Many of my classmates had gone to South Pas High.
