Our "Dawnie" was a very sweet and positive person in spite of her birth defect and she lived a full and happy life.  She graduated from Pasadena City College with an AA in Early Childhood Development.  She was unable to have her own children but she made up for it by caring for others' children as well as being a foster parent.

When Dawnie was growing up, she knew something was off with her health but we could never put a name to it.  By the time she was 38 she accidentally came across an article on Prader Willie Syndrome; she was tested for it and the results came back positive.

All of her loved ones miss her and look forward to a time when we will see each other again.  Dawn is survived by her mother, Donna Lucia; siblings Jimmie, Christine, and Sharyl (SPHS '79); nieces Shalyn and Valerie; and nephews Eddie and Jimmy.

Dawn was born November 19, 1962 and died October 28, 2003 of Prader Willie Syndrome while living in Covina, California.
