I see that George Sands doesn't have any comments by his name. I decided to relate one (or two). I didn't know George well. He was a Senior and I myself a Junior in 1949, so our paths ran in different directons. Except for music and in the Men's Glee Club. I can tell all that he was a 'heck-of-a-tenor.' We were both part of the Men's Quartet put together by Mr Albert Adams (music dept), in 1949. George (1st Tenor) with Dennis Little '50 (2ndTenor), Bill Bahrt '51 (Bass) and I myself '50 (Baritone) performed in two assemblys and forI think the So. Pas. Women's Club, etc., etc.
I don't know much more about him except I thought he was a rather quiet person, was always well prepared, I think a perfectionist and he could hit notes that a bird would understand and enjoy.
I am shocked to see he passed on at the young age of 41. I know I enjoyed singing with him!
God bless you G.S where-ever you are singing now. ... RIP George Sands. - BW
