John Parlett

John Parlett was my manager at NCR until he retired around 2005. He was a very dedicated man for NCR, working many hours in a day, as I would see him at our then Burbank office on several evenings when I worked late. Before I got to know him, I felt intimidated by him and feared him. I laugh at that now. He turned out to be the best manager at NCR and he helped raise my pay scale. I was sad to see him leave us when that time came. He worked 39 years at NCR, starting in 1966. John had and earned peoples' respect at NCR. He ran a great group of techs during him time and I consider myself fortunate to have worked for him.

I've been friends with John since we first met in 3rd grade at Oneonta elementary. Our parents were friends and we would have Sunday dinners and bbq at each others home. John helped me rebuild two car engines in high school. We lost touch after high school but reconnected about 15 yeaes ago, after his heart attack and bypass surgery. He was a manager at N.C.R. and retired in Texas. RIP John.
