Ron Stowe

July 16, 1945 - January 15, 2022

Ron was born to Edgar and Thelma Stowe in Los Angeles and grew up in South Pasadena. He attended Lincoln Elementary, he was a Boy Scout in Troop 369 where his father was the scoutmaster. In 1963 he graduated from South Pasadena High School. After high school, he attended Pasadena City College and Cal State Long Beach.

In 1967 he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was trained as a jet aircraft mechanic 1 & 2, and served as a Flight Line Crew Chief for F-4 Phantom Fighter Jets. Ron served in the Philippines and at George AFB in Victorville from 1967 - 1971. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, he went to work for the City of South Pasadena Water Department. Ron retired from the City of South Pasadena Water Department as a Water Systems Supervisor after 32 years of service.

Once retired, he became a fulltime craftsman and hobbyist of many things. He created stained glass art pieces, woodworking masterpieces, barbeques out of oil drums, and different types of knives. He loved cooking, barbecuing, canning food, and roasting coffee beans for his friends and family. He enjoyed music of all types but loved blues music. He went to many festivals over the years and made many friends from around the world who became his Blues family. He restored his pride and joy a 1956 Chevy Bel Air. He loved to give to others, and he enjoyed taking care of his many dogs over the years.

Ron passed away peacefully at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. He was a man of many talents and had a sarcastic wit that made people laugh. Ron is survived by his brother, Ken Stowe '67 and his family.
