Merle Carrona Hollywood (February 6, 1926 - January 18, 2013) was born in Hollywood, California.  She attended South Pasadena High School and obtained an education degree from USC in 1947.  While in college, she met Edwin Hollywood in Laguna Beach.  The couple married in 1948 and settled in Glendale in 1958.

Merle taught for more than 25 years in the Los Angeles Unified School District and participated in many community service groups in Glendale.

She is survived by Edwin, her husband of 64 years, her three children - Susan, Jim, and Mary - and nine grandchildren.
