Dorothy Frances Winn (Hayes)

Dorothy Winn Hayes (1925 - 2016) passed away, surrounded by her family in Pasadena, at age 90 from complications associated with cancer.

Dottie was born in Spokane, Washington to Bill Winn and Helen Cannon, the oldest of three daughters. She grew up in San Marino and attended South Pasadena High School. She married Bruce Hayes (SPHS '41) of South Pasadena in 1947 and spent 58 wonderful years with him.

Dottie worked as an executive secretary at the Alhambra School District until she retired in 1990. She was passionate about games of all kinds and was a lifelong bridge player. She was an active volunteer who assumed leadership roles in many organizations. In 2009, she moved to Pasadena Highlands; her friends and activities there enriched the last years of her life.

Dorothy is survived by daughter Susan (Brantley) Haigh, sister Sally Winn Panic (SPHS '51) and three grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by husband Bruce Hayes, sister Betty Stanwood, son Robert Hayes and daughter Kathleen Solis.
