Sally Corbit (Crow)

Sally Corbit Crow, age 89, passed away on January 18, 2016. She was born on September 12, 1926 in Los Angeles and was one of two daughters born to Charles and Augusta Corbit. She grew up in South Pasadena and graduated from South Pasadena High School. She received her BA in interior design at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Later in life, she received a second degree in landscape design from Orange Coast Community College in Orange County, California. She worked in the family business, Crow Publications, and ran the Industry World Surveys, an agricultural tour subsidiary of the business. She traveled extensively and had been to every continent, except Antarctica.

Through her lifelong interest in gardening, she established Sally Crow Garden Design and subsequently, planned and designed many gardens in Newport Beach. She enjoyed sharing her passion for gardening by volunteering at Sherman Gardens in Corona del Mar. She was also very active in the community and took part in the cultural development of the area.

Sally is survived by her two children, Katie Crow of Port Townsend, Washington, and Peter (Rita) Crow, in Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Lauren (Hogan) Jones of Boulder; her sister Eleanor Corbit Sisty (SPHS '42), and nieces Carol Fegurgur, Jan Sisty, and Louise Sisty, all of San Diego. Her grandson David Crow preceded her in death in 2013. She will be missed by all who shared her company. She lived a full and fruitful life and always wore a smile.
