Beverly McChrystal (Bailey) - Class Of 1944

Beverly McChrystal Bailey

June 12, 1927 - May 13, 2025

Beverly, age 97, passed away in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Pasadena, California to Walter and Clay Miller McChrystal.

Beverly was a force of nature - spirited, witty, full of life, and entirely unforgettable. To know her was to be drawn into a world of warmth, laughter, and stories that could make you cry from joy one minute and from laughter the next. She had a sparkle in her eye and a mischievous grin that made you wonder what she was going to say next - and you knew it would be good.

Above all, Beverly was devoted to her family. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she created a home where everyone was welcome, where coffee was always brewing, and where the door was never locked. Her love was generous, loud, and enduring. She celebrated the successes of those she loved, stood strong through their sorrows, and never missed a birthday, holiday, or reason to cook way too much food. Beverly taught us how to live boldly, love fiercely, and laugh often. She was unapologetically herself - always - and she gave us all permission to do the same. Her wisdom, stubbornness, and big-hearted nature will be deeply missed by everyone, fortunate enough to be part of her story.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Clarence 'Buz' Bailey. She is survived by her family. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in every shared memory, every family gathering, and every time someone tells a story just a little louder than necessary.

There will never be another Beverly. We wouldn't want there to be. She was one of a kind - and we were the lucky ones. Rest well, Beverly. You were deeply loved. You always will be.
