Jane Sanson (Kneedler)

Jane Sanson Kneedler (October 6, 1929 - August 14, 2015) died at a memory care center in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Born in Hermosa Beach, California to the late Evelyn Thomas and Kenneth Sanson, she is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Kneedler, as well as her children:  Sara (Chris) Modert of Mount Vernon; Susan (Christopher) Highley of Worthington, Ohio; and Robert Kneedler III of Miami, Florida; and four grandchildren.

Janie graduated from South Pasadena schools and Stanford University (Class of 1951). She and Bob married in San Diego, later moved to Glendale, California, where they lived for 56 years. She was a member of the Assistance League, Women's Committee of the Glendale Symphony, PTA, Coordinating Council, Associates of Brand Library, Art Forum, and city-appointed Sign Ordinance Task Force.

Janie was a gifted teacher who taught for many years at Mountain Avenue and Verdugo Woodlands elementary schools in the GUSD, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed travel to the beach, mountains, and the Midwest with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren and inspired them to enjoy studies, sports, and hobbies. She was an artist, creating pottery, paintings, and crafts.
