Mary Elizabeth Allen Zahorecz

November 11, 1958 - March 18, 2022

Mary, age 63, passed away due to frontotemporal degeneration in Layton, Utah. She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, to Lorraine and Gordon Allen. After relocating the family to South Pasadena in 1965, Mary attended South Pasadena Middle School and South Pasadena High School, graduating in 1976. Mary married Andrew Zahorecz (SPHS '75) in 1978 and together they had three children:  Gordon,Andrew, and Kate. In addition, they have five grandchildren.

Mary was a former Vice President at Nelson Miller, Inc. Her joys included hockey, golf, woodworking, and spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by Gordon and his wife, Heather; Andrew and his wife Hayley; Katie and her husband, Nick; her brother, Robert (SPHS '72) and his wife Irene; her sister Linda (SPHS '81) and her husband, Mark; as well as her grandchildren.
