Terry Te-L Liao

Terry Liao

December 15, 1968 - October 6, 2014

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Terry Liao was the second of three children born to Mr Chane-Yuan Liao and Mrs Chang Yung-Liao. Mr and Mrs Liao, owners of the Four-Sea Record Company in Taiwan since 1958, instilled in their children from an early age the traditional Chinese values of loyalty, hard work, and strong family relationships.

Terry and his family immigrated to the US in 1983 when he was 14 years old. He graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. He worked in the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles as the distribution manager for Taiwan Panorama Magazine for the past 16 years. Calm and thoughtful, Terry was a kind and humorous friend to many. His innately generous personality matured and blossomed in the professional arena and was clear in his benevolence, optimistic attitude, and steadfast work ethics. Terry became a born-again Christian 10 years ago and had been attending The Church in Monterey Park. He had been quietly building his spiritual life while actively serving The Lord in fellowship and leading many to Christ. Terry was an avid traveler and gourmet connoisseur. He was particularly fascinated by the diversity of cultures, food, and peoples of his destinations. Interestingly, Vancouver, Canada was his favorite city to visit.

While on vacation at Vancouver, Canada, Terry passed away from an unexpected medical condition. Terry is survived by his parents, brother Kenny, and sister Wendy. His sudden passing is of great sorrow to his family and friends. But we rejoice in knowing that his spirit is now resting with our Heavenly Father and Terry will always be remembered fondly in our hearts.
