From 1958 - 1978 served the USN on five ships; at the Naval School Command in Mare Island, California; at the Bureau of Naval Personnel; and as Master Chief of the Command Naval Recruiting District, Washington, DC. After retirement in 1978, worked for 20 years as a Missile Systems Engineer for RCA/Lockheed Martin while pursuing a Business Administration degree from Northern Virginia Community College. Moved to Johnstown in 2004 from Southampton, New Jersey. Resided in Stoneycreek Township until 2009, when he moved to Laurel View Village after his wife Carol's death. Met and married wife Mary (Mim) in 2012 and resided in Dale Boro until relocating to Las Vegas in 2018. Former member of St Benedict's Catholic Church and St Clare's Catholic Church where he and Mim were married. Past Grand Knight, Trinity Council; Past Faithful Navigator, FR Ed Kelley Assembly; Former District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus, Virginia State Council; and member of St Andrew's Council and 4th Degree Assembly, Johnstown. Member of the Greater Johnstown Retired Men's Club and Chorus; Union Social Club; and ISDA. An avid golfer, he was also a member of North Fork Country Club.

Bob loved the casinos and playing the slots, and always dreamed of hitting it big. He was, according to his family, an undeclared Jeopardy! champion. He loved cruises and traveled with his wife Mim to Aruba, Bermuda, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. Most of all, Bob loved his entire family, biological and extended, and was blessed to have had all of them in his life. He will be greatly missed.
