Edmond Jackson

August 6, 1942 - July 12, 2023

Edmond Tatlow Jackson passed away peacefully in Denver, Colorado. He was 80 years old. He was surrounded by his wife Jean, his two sons Borge and Torben, Torben's wife Alicia, Ed's brother Ron (SPHS '63) and his partner Dorothy. We listened to Hawaiian music and shared memories together over the course of his last days. It was a beautiful send-off for a man who led a wonderful life.

Ed was born in New York but spent most of his life in the Bay Area where he met and married his wife Jean and together raised their two sons Borge and Torben in Tiburon. His lifelong career in the travel industry culminated by running his successful company Runaway Tours in San Francisco. He retired in 2006. He had a passion for travel. He truly loved his work and the people he worked with. Jean always asked herself, "Does everyone love their work as much as Ed does?"

One thing we will all remember Ed by was his big, infectious laugh. It not only filled the room but would fill you with warmth. We will always remember his huge smile as he pushed us into waves in Hawaii as we learned to surf or as he told us stories of the huge fish he caught in Alaska with his friends. He was selfless and made life so fun and rewarding for his family, providing us with endless opportunity and wonderful memories that we will cherish forever.

In lieu of a service, our family will be taking a trip to Kauai to celebrate and reflect on the life of Ed. We had so many wonderful memories as a family on the island and feel it would be the perfect place. This would make Ed happy.
