Aimee Dorr
September 20, 1942 - January 24, 2026
Aimee lived a life of purpose and generosity. An accomplished academic and public servant, she devoted five decades to advancing education as Dean of the UCLA Graduate School of Education and as Vice President and Provost of the University of California. She shaped countless lives through her compassion and ability to uplift the human spirit of those around her. Aimee's legacy endures in the people she supported, inspired, and loved.
Aimee died peacefully at home in South Pasadena. She leaves husband Don simpson, children Simeon Leifer '87 (Ketra Oberlander), JT Dorr-Bremme (Johanna Jackson), Dan Simpson (Patty), and Genevieve Sanders (Mike); along with four grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Julee Livingston (Doug), Andrea Sparks (Steve), Nancy Rosanoff, and Satya Greenstone (Richard). She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Tad Dorr '62, John, and Janice Dorr Johnson '69.

Steve Ledder (1960)
A class act and an example of a life well lived. Always a joy to see Aimee at our class
reunions. She will be missed by many. My condolences to the family. RIP, Aimee
Randolph Wilson (1960)
Aimee was my math coach and friend. Every Thursday afternoon, I went to here house for coaching
and practice for the Friday math quiz. Because of this I received a B in math which helped
me get into Stanford. She was also a classmate at Stanford, one of five of the SPHS class
of 1960 that attended Stanford. She was a dear, dear friend. I will always remember her
