Jeffrey Sauer
June 6, 1966 - July 18, 2025
Jeffrey William Sauer of Flower Mound, Texas, died unexpectedly from a suspected cardiac event at the age of 59. Poised, dependable, brilliant, witty and fiercely loyal to those he loved, Jeff personified the core values of his cherished alma mater, the United States Military Academy.
Born in Seattle, Washington to James Sauer Jr and Sharon Sauer, Jeff grew up in South Pasadena. At age 16 he began dating South Pasadena High classmate and love of his life, Christine Losada '85, his future wife of 34 years. At West Point (1984-1988) he distinguished himself academically and athletically, starring on the varsity water polo team all four years. So respected was team captain Jeff that upon graduation he served as interim head water polo coach and, remarkably, was voted Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year by fellow conference coaches. After coaching, he embarked on active Army officer duty and in December 1989 was on the ground for Operation Just Cause, the US invasion of Panama.
After five years of service, earned an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Business in 1998 and launched a successful career in supply chain management, initially with Deloitte Consulting, then Dean Foods. Most recently he served as the senior supply chain director for Brinker International.
Jeff was a military history buff, an avid reader and an active member of St Ann Catholic Parish. He enjoyed traveling, golf, and Army Black Knights football, but his greatest happiness was found spending time with his family. He was especially smitten with Ivy, his precious granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife Christine, his son Patrick (Danielle), his son Ryan, granddaughter Ivy, mother Sharon, and brothers Scott Sauer '81 and Steven Sauer '87.
