Alfred Scott Chapman

Scott Chapman, Senior Vice President and Manager of Citizens Bank, San Marino Branch, died April 4, 1991, after battling pancreatic cancer for more than six months.

Chapman was a graduate of South Pasadena-San Marino High School and Santa Clara University.  He first entered banking with United California Bank.  He joined Citizens Bank in 1983.

He was a member of the San Gabriel Country Club, the Rotary Club of San Marino and the Tournament of Roses Association.  He also belonged to the Huntington Library Associates and the San Marino Chamber of Commerce.

Scott resided in Sierra Madre with his wife, Diane, for the past 24 years, not far from the residential neighborhood that was once a part of his great-grandfather's citrus ranch.  The area continues to carry the family name, "Chapman Woods."

Scott is survived by his wife and four daughters, Kathy Chapman, Lori Chapman, Sheryl Strople, and Nancy Chapman; his mother Lenore Chapman; sisters, Virginia Ryder, Anita Pine, Mary Harriman, and a brother, William R. Chapman.
