The Class of 1909 dedicated their Copa de Oro to Mr. Noble Harter.  The following was taken from the 1909 Copa.

The saddest event of the year and perhaps of many school years to come, occurred February 23, 1907, for on that day Noble Harter, our principal and teacher, the founder of the High School and an untiring worker in its interests, died.  Although it was through his efforts that our High School building was secured, yet he was denied the pleasure of ever entering it.  Mr. Bush, the vice-principal, took his place as supervising principal.

Former Warsaw Man Dies in Pasadena

Professor Harter Was School Superintendent in California

Warsaw, Indiana, February 26 --A telegram received early Monday morning stated that Professor Noble Harter, for several years superintendent of the Warsaw city schools, died at South Pasadena, California on Saturday, February 23, 1907, and that the funeral service would be held Monday morning at South Pasadena, where the burial would also take place.

Professor Harter, who was one of the prominent and best known educators in Indiana, on account of ill-health was compelled to give up his position in Warsaw two or three years ago, being advised to go to California. Professor Harter removed his family to South Pasadena where he became the superintendent of schools.
