
Willisford 'Ben' Dey
November 19, 1915 - January 7, 1961
W Bennett Dey, 45, of Santa Monica, was general sales manager for the Western Engineering and Manufacturing Company of Venice. A California resident for 37 years, he attended South Pasadena High School and was a 1937 graduate of Stanford, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
In 1936, Mr Dey shared the US Intercollegiate Doubles championship in tennis. He was a director of the Santa Monica Tennis Patrons Association. During World War II he served as a Navy lieutenant.
He leaves his widow, Roberta; three sons, Peter, Douglas, and John; a brother Edwin Dey (SPHS '50) of Arcadia, and his parents, Mr and Mrs Marcus Dey of Prospect, Oregon.
