Family history living in South Pasadena:

My father built a house in San Marino in 1949 at the corner of Lombardy Rd and Sierra Madre Blvd, when the streetcar tracks still ran up the middle of the latter. Went to Huntington School for the last six months of 8th grade, then the junior high in South Pasadena.

Sister, Gretchen (Ballard) Guard, class of 1959. Cousins Mike, Pat and Gary Forster.

Other SPHS graduates I keep in touch with:

Have lunch every few months with '53 classmates who live in the Bay Area--Timmie (Getchell) Cosovich, Judith (Gretchen Scholtz) Kays, Patty (Simmonds) Sims, Claire (Vallette) Barney, Shirley (Schneider) Silvestre, Sally (Tuller) Sands and Sherrie (Ross) Moore. And Stanford gatherings are a chance to see lots of South Pas people--Noelle (Schmutz) Jackson, Dave Mitchell, Marilyn (Miller) McDonald, Valerie (Moore) Anthony, Barbara (Thomas) Anderson, for instance.

School Memories:

Navy blue skirts, white bucks, foggy Friday night football, May Day, Mary Bateman's yellow Packard convertible, Silas Marner, Mr. Phippin's print shop, sitting behind Hal Bahls, alphabetically, in Mr. Monroe's geometry class, Spanish with Miss Burr.

Pastimes & Hobbies:

books, crosswords, cooking and (guilty pleasure) old movies.
