Marc was quiet and unassuming and many classmates didn't know him. I am happy to have had him as a friend. We would often walk home from school together and engage in some sort of athletic activity in my back yard. Marc was the school's best pole vaulter and often finished first at track meets. He really took it seriously. The two of us constructed a make-shift pole vaulting standard in my backyard, found a long sturdy stick and he tried to teach me how to pole vault. I was a terrible student but Marc was patient and understanding. He was really a great guy.

I remember Mark as a quiet, shy guy ! Our Mother's were friends. After graduating from SPHS. Mark went on to UCSB with me !
