Worked thirty years in Jacksonville's Trauma Center Hospital, in the Operating Room. Retired as Perioperative Supervisor in 1999.
After retirement made 22 trips to Milot, Haiti over a period of ten years, from 2000 thru 2010. Helped set up Orthopedic Clinic with other medical people, on a volunteer basis. Served after the earthquake in 2010. My husband, David, (criminologist) was with me and assisted with all tasks.
Celebrated 65 years of marriage in Nov. 2019. Very blessed. I have been under treatment for lymphoma since 2016, and am doing well!
We made a trip to India for the month of Feb. and visited long time college friends! Got back home just before the "lockdown" from the Corona virus! We are walking every day and so far, all our family are fine! Hope to make the reunion this year. Pat Power Balanky

Update: Brother Bruce Power died July 14, 2019. He was 86 years old. Very loved and we all miss him.
Brother Bruce Power (class of '52) lives in Havana, Florida, just outside of Tallahassee. He is retired from the State Road Dept. and just celebrated his 80th birthday. His wife,Jean, and his family were in attendance!
Sister Jacque Power lives in Jacksonville, Fl. and is a active nurse, still caring for others. She is retired now (2020) and has health issues, but the proud great-grandmother of 16 children!!
Brother Carl Morales is retired from banking and lives in Temple City, Calif. Doing well.
Sister Victoria Morales lives and works in Manhattan and Clifford, Pa. Also doing well!

Working as volunteer retired but active surgical Trauma Nurse for 11 years in Haiti made my husband and I so much more aware of the importance of leadership in all aspects of life. Nothing really gets accomplished without it!

Enjoy travel, spending time with friends and family and especially with a 12 yr. old granddaughter. Volunteer at the local museum as docent for the school children's tours. Blessed with a wonderful husband of 58 yrs. and we are fortunate to have built so many common interests. Our three children all live here in Jacksonville which makes it easy to stay connected.
We have a gym in our condo building, so no excuses!

As for myself, I am still doing some volunteer work for Sacre Coeur hospital in Milot. Haiti. As always, my husband of 58 years (David) is also involved. I was a first responder after the earthquake of 2010 and decided to pass the baton on to the younger group of medical volunteers in the following year. Efforts are now centered around doing medical inventory and helping to collect supplies for shipping from Florida.
This past fall David and I "swapped" homes with a retired couple in London for three weeks. Worked great! Loved the city and really had time to explore. Did it through the internet..Homelink.org. Recommend it! (Jan. 2013)
