College Dropout - Attended San Diego State University and made the Dean's List after just one semester (also known as academic probation). I went to work for a family friend's warehousing operation for about year before accepting a position with Marsh & McLennan and starting what turned to be a 38 year career in the insurance industry.

My parents bought their first SP home in 1958. It was a cute little Craftsman located on Meridian between Monterey Rd and El Centro. We moved to a larger home on Hope St near Garfield Park in 1965 where my parents remained until 2006. Fortunately, the house on Meridian proved difficult to sell due to its proximity to the proposed freeway route. They turned it into a rental and their first tenant paid off their mortgage by living there for 20 years. My mother moved back into that little house in 2006 and she is still living there today. Note: The property next to my Mom's house on Meridian recently sold for over $1.7 million.
