Susan Biles Sullivan
June 1, 1952 - October 21, 2024
Susan, 72, of Vienna, Virginia passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She bravely fought pancreatic cancer with such resilience and unwavering strength. Susan was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Susan was born in Los Angeles to Margaret Anguita and Richard Biles. She is survived by her two daughters Erin Sullivan and Kathryn (Joe) Russo, one granddaughter and longtime partner Tommy Gros. She is also survived by sisters, Cathe D'Auria '72, Diana, Joni, and Dina; brother, Robert, and countless cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Guy, Ron, Don, Robert, and Dante.
Susan graduated from South Pasadena High School in 1970 and traveled extensively in her 20s with her beloved yellow lab, Miss Peach (aka 'Missy'). After becoming friends with members of the band Rich Mountain Tower at a ski lodge outside of Quebec, Susan traveled with the band to Florida and Tennessee. She eventually settled in Northern Virginia, where she had her two daughters with Tom Sullivan. She had a fulfilling career as an executive assistant, most recently with Serco where she retired in 2022 after 16 years.
Throughout her life, Susan had a passion for music which she shared with her family and friends. She was particularly known for hosting her famous taco nights (a recipe she's shared with her daughters but is somehow irreplicable) and her love of gardening, good music, and red wine. Her favorite role was as grandmother to Aubrey, who affectionately named her 'Nama.' Susan was anticipating another grandchild in December with great joy.
Susan never met a stranger and found the good in everyone. She was known for her genuine warmth, kind heart, and magnetic personality. Her family and loved ones will especially miss her bright smile, sharp humor, and quick laugh. Her memory will be cherished forever.

Susan and I started in kindergarten in Mrs Tuesberg's classrom, which was right across the street on Cawston. I remember her very fondly as a perky, smart and cute girl. We were in school through high school graduation in 1970. The next time I saw her was in Pasadena a fee years ago at our Covid-delayed 50th. She gave me a sweet, warm kiss. How I will miss her God bless Susan and may God grant her family Peace

That is so sweet Mike. It's wonderful you have known her for so long and shared such a touching memory with us. I am always amazed hearing about where life took our classmates! I listened to her band and the music is great. Reminded me of Chris Cooper and my first bandmate, Richard Horne.
