School Memories

So many wonderful memories from SP.....I am so proud to be friends with so many wonderful Tigers....and I feel privileged to have grown up in South Pasadena....

The first girl to run on the Boys Track Team, as a girl, in 1974, lol! SPHS didn't have a girl's track team until years later. There is a small article about the very few girls doing competitive sports in the 1974 yearbook. It wasn't very common for girls to do competitive sports until then.
I went before the school board to get approval to be able to compete on the Boys Track Team.
I was fast and beat a lot of boys in competition. The 5 girls running track, myself, Tammy Strong, Cheryl Pierson, Denise Elias, and Sara Cross (Long distance runner).

Milestones & Epiphanies

Married at 18 to Peter R. Thomsett for 22 1/2 years, until Peter passed away from Glioblastoma Multiformes, Grade 4, brain cancer.

Reconnected and married to my high school sweetheart, John Mathew "Mat" Murphy, 2006 (30th high school reunion year)...together for 2 1/2 years, until he passed away from Anaphylactic shock as a result of allergy to medication.

Married Tim Seastrom (SP Class of '74), 9/21/13....and loving every minute of it!!
