I lived in South Pasadena from 1950 to 1966, when I moved to Carpinteria, where I was born.
My mother, Mabel, worked in the public library and, briefly, at the junior high library. My father, Richard, worked in the local schools, as a teacher, vice-principal and principal at the junior high, and as an assistant superintendent.
