Last June 19th was our high school alumni picnic... held every June, and until recently, we had never been able to attend. This is actually only the third one we've been to, and it was a lot of fun. There were people there who had graduated from South Pasadena High School in the early '30s, right up to the present. Quite a variety of ages, demographics, and lifestyles, but one thing in common: a love for a wonderful town and wonderful school.
There were over 450 alums & family there: tons of hotdogs and chips were consumed, thousands of photos were taken with hundreds of cameras, and a million conversations with love, life and laughter.
Battered yearbooks and photo albums circulated, and hugs were shared. Don't you just love reunions? Until next year, cheers, Tigers!

Is there a 2011 June date planned this far ahead so everyone could mark calendars? RE: JUNE 19, 2010 ALL ALUMNI PICNIC Posted Thursday, July 1, 2010 10:32 AM Yes, every year there is an All-Alumni Picnic scheduled at Garfield Park! It keeps getting bigger and bigger each year. Last year there were about 325 people in attendance. The prior years before that, it was in the 200 attendance range. This year above 450! The next Picnic is scheduled for June 18th, 2011. |

RE: JUNE 19, 2010 ALL ALUMNI PICNIC Posted Tuesday, November 1, 2011 03:53 PM I enjoyed the 2011 all alumni picnic very much. I visited with many alumns - some for the very first time. I guess the most memorable part for me was going over to the 1930's table and asking Lorraine Goodnoe Young if she remembered any of the 5 Johnson sisters from high school. She smiled and said, "Oh, my, Yes - Lois Johnson!" I told Lorraine that Lois Johnson later became Lois Ledder - my mother. South Pasadena was indeed a very special place to grow up and attend school. Despite what the noted writer says, you can go home again.
